Under CURRENT VRN SCHEUDLE there are now new links :

• Current VRN Schedule : This is the default landing page for the web site.  It will default to the current week and show all shows from 10 days before and after the current date.
• 2025 Calendar : This will show every show listed for 2025.  As the year progresses, it will take longer and longer to load.  More shows = more data.  By default it is in monthly calendar format, and will default to the current month.  
• 2024 Archive: This is the archive for all the shows in 2024.  By default it is in list format.

We have had some discussions of some users not being comfortable using X/Twitter or any META based forms of communication between the family.

To help with these issues, I have set up a VRN WhatsApp Community.  Use the invite link below to join the server.  There is also a VRN WHATSAPP link in the menu at the top of the page.

I have changed the Schedule/Calendar a little bit.

Originally I just had all the shows on the calendar, and it worked fine.  But then we started saving a SHITLOAD of shows.  Once it hit the thousands, it was taking forever for the front page to load.  So I created 2 views : 

1) with just this weeks schedule.  That's the main page you see now.

2) with the complete history of #VRN shows.  This still takes for-fucking-ever to launch.  But that is because it is including every show on the VRN Ever.  Well at least since this site has been up.

I made a few changes to the schedule page.  It now shows the week before and the week after the current week.  And there are navigation arrows at the to to let you go back and forth, if you want.  But by default it shows the current week. 

Also on the historical calendar, you can now view by Day/Week/Month in a calendar view, or you can view 1 year at a time in a list view.  Just for those that are curious.

Let me just preface this with the fact that a lot of my updates are going to start with the phrase "OK.... So I am an idiot".

This one is no exception, and it should be implied.

I have cloned the Calendar page, and created a separate page called Schedule.  The Schedule page will now be the default page for the site.  It looks exactly like the Calendar, with a few exceptions :

1 - There is no way to change the date.  It will show the current week or day if you are on the mobile site.  You can still switch between day and week.  This is because.... 

2 -  The Schedule page now only loads the shows from 7 days before and after the current date.  Not every damn show we have ever added to the site.

The original Calendar page still looks and functions the same way it used to.  The problem was that for the initial view of the Volumaniacs site, it loaded into memory, and added to the Calendar, every damn show from the beginning of time.  Even though it only showed the current week by default, it still had to load them.  

That means as time went on, and more shows were added, it got progressively bigger and bigger.

THAT means it also got progressively slower and slower.

Once I realized WTF was going on, I knew what to do to fix it.

So the menu now shows Schedule, and as a Sub-Menu item, you can go back and look at the full Calendar to see all history and upcoming shows.

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is a protocol that is used to verify that email is coming from the domain that it is actually supposed to be from.

I have finally got DKIM set up for Volumaniacs.Net.

Hopefully this means your notification emails will stop going to spam folders, or simply not being delivered at all.

I have added a section for concert reviews.  All Registered Users should see the link in the secondary menu to Add Concert Review.

You can add as much text as you like.  Along with pictures and videos.

This is the first entry in the Site News.  It is to let you know that I have added a new section called Site News.

Pretty fuckin meta, huh?

I will use this to update new features to the site.
