Kendel in Cleveland
In the summer of 1997 17kandles had their first DJ experience that took place at WJCU 88.7 in Cleveland, OH.
Throughout life many hours were spent listening to music. If it was radio it usually was college radio (left of the dial) or Cleveland’s Alternative channel in the early 90s. Mainly, music was taken in via cd or by cassette mixtapes. Much of the earlier years as a kid becoming a teenager, many people were turned on to new music they hadn’t heard before. Top 5 Losers - Wednesdays @ Noon Eastern - My favorite part of Top 5 Tuesdays was the next day when they would discuss the entries that just didn't make the cut. So now I play numbers 6-15 and then hand pick a bunch of the other losers that should have gotten more respect.
Group Therapy - Sundays @ Noon Eastern - This is mainly for the VRN Curators to be able to call in and ask questions… Read Full Bio

He played guitar and keyboards in several local bands. "Small town bars are the best place to play!".
Now retired after 35 years working as an RN, Ted loves playing music in his home studio and sharing music with listeners on his radio shows.

My Story? OK
It was never easy for me, I was born a poor black child. I remember the days with my family singing and dancing on the porch in Mississippi.
As far as my musical journey, I don't usually talk about my first concert, but my second concert was Queen with Billy Squire opening back in 1982. From there I've seen and probably forgotten more concerts than many people see in their lives.
I played drums through middle school and high school and still do steering… Read Full Bio

Grew up "Deep In the heart of Texas" as the song goes. Music was always playing in our house growing up and I can blame my parents for my concert addiction.
