Houston House of Blues - Bronze Peacock Room

Phosphorescent

Concert Date
Concert Review Text

I saw Phosphorescent Saturday at the Houston House of Blues in their small venue called the Bronze Peacock.  Lead singer and songwriter Mathew Houck came on solo with just his electric guitar and played some of the older hits, that the mostly over 40 audience was eating up.  The place was filled with fans that were eager to hear songs off the new album Revelator.  And after a short 10-minute intermission he brought out the band complete with drummer, bass, slide guitar and piano.  And this band was tight, and cranked out hits like "Born in New England" and others.  Definitely worth seeing if you are into indie singer/ songwriter rock and roll with a hint of melancholy blues.
